Funny Book entry of the Week

Brookie has really been reading well lately and asked for her own Book of Mormon. So I gave her a copy that the missionaries had given us. She has read a chapter or two and this morning Emma asked her what it was about and what it said in there. Brookie replied, "Basically, it's about Nephi and Lehi seeing gallons of angels."
I guess graduating from kindergarten does not mean that we have our units of measure figured out. Give us another year or two. But it was so funny.

Joke of the week

A man walks into the library and approaches the librarian and asks for help finding a book. She asks him for the name of the book and he replies, Man, the Master of Women. She looks at him and says sarcastically, "I'm sure it's in fiction." -Monson

Terrible Trio, looks like trouble

Christopher is enjoying the spoils of another birthday. He has really enjoyed the art kit from mom and dad. He also really like the ties. We tried to snap a picture before church today. I took 60 pictures, Ethan only looked at the camera one time.
Christopher's birthday was great. He wanted a water balloon party. It was a very easy thing to accommodate.
We will be posting some video soon.
Love to all,

Hola!

Hey all-Fall is here in Seattle, although we're not totally sure we ever had a summer. We not only survived but loved our trip to Guatemala! We learned mucho and got so used to Spanish it was weird to hear people speaking so much English when we got back. The photo is Alan dressed as a Maya father-of-the-bride in a traditional wedding ceremony and me trying to make handmade tortillas over a fire. Carson and Deena just left our place-they rolled into town Tuesday and brought beautiful sunshine with them. Hope you're all doing well-Sunni

Memories of McCall - Past and Future???? What is your vote?

We had a wonderful weekend at McCall - courtesy of Timbercrest Homes - the fractional interest vacation home we are seriously thinking about. Take a look at their website and see if you think we could be "comfortable" in their rough and rustic homes. Not!!

We love McCall and love to spend time there. We had a taste of late fall - heavy rain and wind on Saturday and Sunday. But with a fire you light with a remote control and a private hot tub, we stayed warm, cozy and happy:)

Vote and tell us what you think.

For or Against.

Worn out by breakfast

Things have been busy around here in North Carolina for the past few weeks. With the change in residency, Christopher starting kindergarden, Ethan starting preschool, Rachel pregnant, Matthew teething, we are just plain tired.

Just to give you an idea of how tired we are, Ethan fell asleep during breakfast. It is his favorite and sometimes, only meal.

We are super exicted for Thanksgiving.

CHOCOLATE

I forgot to mention the other thing that I am addicted to. Is there any way we could have chocolate day once a month rather than once a year?:)

Green chillis are getting cooler, literally

Well it finally happened. Brookie and Emma decided simultaneously to learn how to ride their bikes without training wheels. It was great and they are so proud of themselves. Ever since, they can't get enough of the scenery around our neighborhood:)
Also, if you ever drop in for lunch, dinner or even breakfast for that matter, I do believe that you had better like Green Chilli. Not just like but love. Dan is officially addicted and trying his very best to get me there also. I'm trying to think of what we have not yet tried with green chilli and I do think the only thing that comes to mind is cereal. Although mention it and you know what we're having for breakfast tomorrow. Really you guys, you have got to try these dishes with green chillis: spaghetti, pizza, grilled cheese sandwiches, bagel sandwiches, omelets, hamburgers, steak, porkchops, lasagna, dutch oven cheese bread, any kind of soup(just add a cup of diced g.c.), fish, obviously tamales, enchiladas and sopapillas. I could go on and on but I will spare you guys. We offically eat it at every meal. When we first moved here I said,"You've got to be kidding me, Green chilli on your pizza and in every pasta dish?" Now I ask, "Where's the Green Chilli?" Because every meal tastes very bland indeed without it. Yesterday I was sick and Dan made me grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. I never did find any cheese in the sandwich but there was plenty of g.c. They sell 30 pound bags at Smiths for $5 (they roast them for free right there for you to watch). I can take orders if any one is interested. I know if we move, we are going to have withdrawals and will be for sure having friends mail us green chilli via FedEx (we know they will be on time).

Also New Mexico gets monsoons. In July and August every afternoon around 2 the clouds roll in, dump water on us like buckets and is over by four. It is actually quite an amazing thing. It really cools things down. I love it. But I do not know what the annual rain fall is.
